The Day My Mom Came to Kindergarten by Maureen Fergus and Mike Lowery

Meagan’s Kids Pick:
The Day My Mom Came to Kindergarten (Kids Can Press, 2013)

What happens when Mom gets to spend the day at kindergarten with her daughter? Does she sit quietly? Listen to the rules? Take off her muddy shoes? NO! Mom gets so excited to come to kindergarten that she has to be taught all of the rules, and her daughter has to learn to be patient with her and help her through the day.

“The Day My Mom Came to Kindergarten” is a very funny book, and teaches kids that while everyone takes a little while to adapt to new situations, with a little patience and a helping hand, everyone can learn to fit in and have fun.
